There are some people that make your life. Like the 2 guys in my store (Lowes) looking for a 48″ wide fire door of which I could only get a 50″ wide door to fit his 48″ opening. I told them,” well, I have a sledge hammer that can make that opening 1″ wider on each side!”
No, that won’t do. I can’t get that extra inch, maybe half an inch.” he said.
“Why do you have to be so difficult!” I grinned.
We went back and forth like that for about 20 minutes and then he mentioned the competitor’s name. I was not about to let them go there much less say the “HD” word. He finally realized that it would take some research on my part to find what he was looking for.
In the meantime, I was already there almost an hour longer than I wanted to be there, but that was OK, I enjoyed these guys and bantering with them.
“OK, go ahead and go home now.” I said, “but you have to buy smethung before you leave!”
He lifted up his hand with a small box of nails and said,”I hate leaving here. That means I ave to go back to work!’
